Patriots Face First Loss of the Season

Friday, October 14th the Pinecrest Patriots suffered a devastating loss to Scotland County High School. The Patriots lost by one touchdown and a field goal.

 

The final score was 20-13. Both teams came into the game undefeated. This was a major game for both teams. There were eight thousand to ten thousand people expected at the game.

At halftime, the Patriots were leading with a score of 13-7, but the Fighting Scots came back for the win during the 3rd quarter, scoring a touchdown to tie the game at 13-13.

A major player for the Patriots that got a lot of attention was safety senior Jaylin Dickerson.

Touchdowns were scored by seniors Malyke Justice and Jaren Lubrano for the Patriots.

Coach Metzger said, "The kids played really hard and did the best that they could. It's our job as coaches to help them improve. We have to change the little things from how we practice to how we watch game films to how we lift."

Senior and wide receiver JT Adams said, "I personally did as much as I could, but they had a really good running back. As a team, we need to work on conditioning, stamina and tackling. "

Pinecrest Varsity Football plays Scotland on October 14th.
