Oktoberfest Is a Success

By Katie Blevins

Oktoberfest took place on October 6 during all four lunches. There were 23 different clubs that set up booths.

The booths all had different games and activities for students to participate in. In order to participate in these activities, students had to purchase tickets.

Each ticket cost 25 cents. The amount of tickets each club earns determines how much money the club receives for projects and materials.

There were many different activities the clubs set up such as karaoke by Spectrum, duck pond by Feminism Club and Nacho Toss by S.A.V.E./S.A.D.D. The event is geared toward helping clubs raise money.

SGA advisor, Mr. Swofford, who was in charge of organizing the entire event said, “The event went great. We raised almost $800 dollars towards all the clubs. My favorite club booth was FFA because they had the dunk booth and the corn.”

Junior Brandon Caddell who is Vice President of Spectrum, the club that had the karaoke booth, said, “As the lunches went on, more and more students were attracted to the booth to sing and have a great time. Overall, it was very successful and everyone seemed to enjoy it very much.”
