Patriot Football Season Comes to an End

On November 18, 2016, Pinecrest High School took on Leesville Road High School in the first round of the playoff games. Pinecrest won with a final score of 42-21.

 

This loss put an end to Leesville Road's season.

 

Junior Nick Pry, senior Christopher Owens, and sophomore Shymeik Reaves all scored one touchdown, while senior Malyke Justice scored two. Kicker senior Zach Martinez made five field goal kicks. Senior JT Adams returned a 35-yard interception for a touchdown.

Junior Freddy Barras said, “We were very prepared for the game against Leesville Road. Coach Metzger helped to make sure we knew who we were up against, so we could go out and get the job done.”

This win sent the Patriots to the second round of the playoff games where they took on Wake Forest Heritage High School.

On November 25, 2016, Pinecrest High School took on Wake Forest Heritage High School for the second round of the playoff games where the Pinecrest Patriots lost 25-21.This loss ended the Patriots’ season with a final record of 10-3.

 

Junior Nick Pry, senior Jeremiah Anderson and senior JD Robinson each scored a touchdown. Senior Zach Martinez also made all three of his field goal attempts.

Coach Metzger said, “I thought the playoff games went really great. Obviously, we wish we had won the second one, but the guys exceeded expectations and honored their fallen teammate.”
