National Honor Society Joins The Cyber World

By Katie Blevins

With the internet being at students’ fingertips almost all the time, the National Honor Society (NHS)  has decided to start offering Cyber Tutoring. Cyber Tutoring is an opportunity for students to talk to students that are in NHS and get some help in classes they struggle with.

Junior Gabrielle Flanders said, " It's a good thing because it's convenient for people who aren't able to stay after school for tutoring because they ride the bus."

The new tutoring option allows for students to be tutored in the comfort of their own home. You no longer have to hire a tutor or try and meet up with a student who can help you. Now, all you have to do is get on your Chromebook and an NHS member will help you.

Some students are still slightly skeptical of the idea since it may be difficult to teach certain subjects.

Junior Katie Ochoa stated, "I think that it's a good idea because it helps out those who are struggling. Although, it may be hard to explain some things without saying the answer."

While it may take a couple weeks to get used to it, the program is ultimately beneficial to the student who needs help.

Junior Caitlin McKinney said, "I think it's a good idea because it gives the student a chance to ask specific questions and have concepts explained in a different way, which may help the student learn it."
