Cross Country Wins Conference Meet

Tuesday September 27, the Pinecrest Cross Country team traveled to Hoke County High School to compete in a conference meet. Both the boys and girls teams came in first with the girls scoring a total of 17 points and the boys scoring a total of 22 points.

 

The other teams competing in the race were Hoke County High School and Richmond Senior High School. For the girls team, Richmond got second place with Hoke not far behind in third. For the boys team, Hoke came in 2nd followed closely by Richmond.

The top three girls for the Patriots were sophomore Brooklyn Doorey with a time of 21.41.80 followed closely by sophomore Sophia Hirtle at 21.50.90 and senior Mary Margaret West with a time of 22.15.80.  

 The top three that scored on the boys team were junior Colin Alexander with a time of 18.24.00 followed by senior Tremaris Hailey with a time of 18.33.00 and  junior Nick Klug with a time of 19.08.00.

Junior Gabrielle Flanders said, “Overall, the team did really well. And, out of the top ten girls, seven of them were Pinecrest runners.”

Sophomore Ella Riesberg said,  “The team did really well and I am very proud of my teammates because we are a very young team and we are doing so well.”
