  Birkenstocks

By Emma Watts

Trending since the 1960’s, this fashion fad has made a recent comeback. Birkenstocks was founded in 1744 by the German shoemaker Johann Adam Birkenstock. These sandals soon became known for their ability to conform to the wearers’ feet with their contoured cork and rubber footbeds. Birkenstocks have become very popular among students such as Madisen Ringley who stated, “I love Birkenstocks.” Majority of students across Pinecrest and the world can agree, we love Birkenstocks.
